Our beards generally don’t grow in evenly. And, let’s face it, sometimes there are gaps even when the hair is growing well. Men have struggled with gaps in their facial hair since the dawn of time, but with the surging popularity of beards and mustaches, men all over are struggling to find a way to make themselves look a little more presentable by filling in those sparse spots. There’s good news – one man discovered that eye shadow might be the perfect solution to those problems.
Eye Shadow to the Rescue
The unnamed man posted a picture of himself on Reddit before the beard fill in, and we can all commiserate with the sparse, gapped look of still growing facial hair. As beard wearers, we’ve all been there before, and it’s no fun at all. However, he turned to a friend for assistance. She was able to transform his gapped look into something much more solid with just one product – eye shadow. Specifically, she used E.L.F. Mad for Matte Eye Shadow.
Apparently, that was all he needed to really fill out his beard. She took things a little further though, by eliminating dark shadows under his eyes as well as providing a little more definition for those eyes with other makeup products. The overall effect was very well received, and the man in question definitely garnered compliments.
Not one to use women’s makeup on your own face? Don’t fret. There are plenty of other products out there that can do the job that won’t be found in your wife’s purse. Quite a few men’s grooming product manufacturers sell things like brow and beard connectors. Essentially, these are pencils designed to let you connect the dots in areas where facial hair or eyebrows are a little sparse.
With that being said, cost-conscious beard wearers might want to consider going the eye shadow route. A good beard connector pencil might set you back as much as $33, while a decent eye shadow can be had for far less than that. It’s really more about your budget and how comfortable you are using products that are ostensibly for women rather than men, although the argument could be made that both the men’s facial hair pencil and female-centric products are the same thing in different packaging.
So, if you’re suffering from a patchy or thin beard, there are options.
